1 pkg chocolate cake mix

1 pkg (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding

1 stick butter, melted

1/2 cup cold milk

6 squares baker’s semi-sweet chocolate, chopped & divided

1 cup peanuts, divided

1 cup creamy peanut butter


*Heat oven to 350.  Line 13×9″ dish with foil & spray with cooking oil.

*Mix first 4 ingredients until blended (will be pretty thick).  Press half of the cake mixture into the prepared pan.

*Bake for 10 minutes.  Sprinkle half each of the chocolate and nuts over the crust; spread with peanut butter.  Cover with layers of remaining cake mixture, chocolate, and nuts.  Press gently with spatula.

*Bake for 15 minutes.  Cool for 1 hour.  Refrigerate 4 hours before cutting into bars.

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

2 eggs

2 cups flour

1/2 cup cocoa

1 tsp baking soda

peanut-butter chips

*Preheat oven to 375.

*Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt in large bowl until creamy.  Add eggs, beat well.

*Stir together four, cocoa, and baking soda.  Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well-blended.  Add peanut-butter chips (10-11oz) and stir.

*Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet.

*Bake 8-10 minutes or until set.  Cool slightly, transfer to wire rack.
